Capitol Hill
Capitol Hill is a 14-mile drive from the main host hotel - the Seattle Airport Marriott. Seattle Gay News lists 35 gay bars and restaurants in Seattle. In addition to that, there are still dozens and dozens more gay-friendly bars and restaurants in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. View Map
In fact, that's one thing you'll notice about Capitol Hill. It's tough to tell which places are the true "gay bars" -- because of the sprawling neighborhood's dense population of gays and other eccentrics.
This map may make Capitol Hill look larger than it really is. The city blocks in Seattle are quite small -- which makes the neighborhood very pedestrian-friendly. Each of the four main dining and nightlife corridors of Capitol Hill are within easy walking distance of each other.
Pike/Pine Corridor
This is the heart of Capitol Hill nightlife. Most of Seattle's most popular gay bars are located in the Pike/Pine corridor between Boylston and 15th Ave.
Broadway
If Gay Seattle has a Main Street, it's Broadway Ave between Pike and Roy. Dozens of restaurants -- everything from upscale Mexican and pub food to 24-hour fast food -- line the storefronts in this section of the Hill.
15th Avenue
At the northeastern edge of Capitol Hill between Denny and Roy St., this corridor of coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs has a small, hometown feel.
Olive Way
Perhaps the #1 landmark on "The Hill" is the giant Starbucks on Olive Way and Summit Ave. Yes, Olive Way has other conveniences and storefronts, but this neighborhood is no different than the rest of Seattle -- it loves its Starbucks. And the Olive Way Starbucks is regarded by many as the epicenter of Gay Seattle.
