Volunteer Opportunities

Attention Seattle Softball Players, Members of the Seattle LGBT Community, Visitors and Anyone Who May be Interested

Whether or not your team wins a berth to Series 2008 or even if you aren’t a softball player, consider planning now to take the week of August 23-30 as a week of vacation. There will over 4000 athletes in town that week as well fans and spectators. We're going to need literally hundreds of volunteers to serve as goodwill ambassadors for Seattle and the Emerald City Softball Association for Series 2008. There are several different areas where volunteers are needed.

We have the following committees in place that are busy working on pre planning for Series 2008.

Events (This includes Opening & Closing Ceremonies)
Registration (Saturday, Sunday & Monday August 23rd thru 25th).
Sponsorship (Contract local businesses for sponsorships)
Hospitality (Maps, Seattle Info, directions etc.)
Operations/Logistics (Golf Carts, Fields Support, Events Support etc.)
Program (development and production of the Series 2008 program that goes to all participants.)
Volunteers (soliciting, coordinating and scheduling Volunteers)
Fundraising (Running and supporting any local fundraisers).

If you are interested in being on one of these committees and helping them now with Series 2008 pre planning they really need your help. Just email volunteer@series2008.org and be sure to list what committee you are interested in supporting.

From Friday August 22nd thru August 30th we will need over 250 volunteers to help with all the associated activities that will be taking place. This is a list of the some things that we will need volunteers for:

Registration (August 23rd – 25th - registration of players/coaches, handing out registration packets, selling cookbooks etc.), Opening Ceremonies support (August 25th – Event set up and tear down, directing attendees etc.), Hospitality at Host Hotels ( Providing directions and event information), Field Directors (oversees all activities at the a Softball Complex), Field Administrators (collecting scores, selling cookbooks, stocking water in dug outs, answering questions, hospitality etc.), Talent Show support (Sign ups, back stage support etc.), Operations/Logistics Support (event set up and tear down, fields ancillary equipment set up, delivery to events & fields etc.), Closing Ceremonies (Event set up and tear down, ticket takers, awards coordinators etc.)
